Action Pathways Offers Counseling to Empower Better Credit
Since 2014, Action Pathways’ Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) of Fayetteville, has assisted more than 250 families in obtaining the American Dream of homeownership through its first-time homebuyers program. Disabled veteran, Tiffany Burris, was one of those helped by the program. She attended the program workshop, and after one-on-one counseling, increased her credit score by 200 points. Equipped with a wealth of knowledge from the workshop, and with her CCCS counselor’s assistance, Mrs. Burris was able to purchase a home for her family just one year later.
Action Pathways’ CCCS program includes an all-day class covering topics from applying for a loan, to selecting the right house, and what to look for in mortgage documents. At the end of the course, participants earn a certificate, which is necessary to qualify for down payment assistance and other city, state, and federal mortgage assistance programs.
