Lees-McRae College Helps Feed More Than 500 Families

Every year, Lees-McRae College holds an on-campus, weeks-long food drive. The money raised and items donated go to a fellow nonprofit, Feeding Avery Families, an organization that distributes approximately 500 boxes of food and feeds more than 1,000 individuals in Avery County per month. In 2016, the college’s students, faculty and staff collected enough canned goods, soups and other miscellaneous dry goods to feed more than 500 families in Avery County.
